The youngster signed a professional contract with the team in the summer and has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign featuring heavily in Jo Potter’s side.
Speaking to RangersTV to preview this weekend’s Sky Sports Cup final against Partick Thistle, the winger described what it would mean to lift the trophy having grown up supporting the club as fan.
She commented: “It would be amazing. Obviously it is my first year in a professional contract and to get a piece of silverware I think it would be amazing to kick start the season.
“I am really excited for it. Obviously growing up watching the men’s team win trophies I am buzzing to hopefully get one for myself.”
The 17-year-old reflected on the campaign so far and how she has felt being fully integrated into the squad.
She added: “I am really enjoying it. Obviously coming up as a young player I didn't expect to get as many minutes but I have been getting chances and I have been really happy with how me and the team have been playing.
“How helpful have all your teammates and coaching staff been? They have been really good with me; they have really brought me out my shell. They have obviously got a lot of experience so they have helped me with that to make me a better player and as a person.”
McAulay featured and scored in the most recent Old Firm derby played at Ibrox and she is hoping for a similar backing from the Rangers supporters when they head to the capital for the showpiece final this Sunday.
She said: “How will playing at Ibrox help you for this weekend? I think it will really help me. Obviously we got a really big crowd at Ibrox so I hope the fans turn out at Tynecastle.
“It would show that we are a club that strives to win trophies. It will show what we are about and I am really excited for the rest of the season to try win more.”
