Rangers returned to pre-season training a week ago as preparations got underway for the start of the new SWPL season, starting with a trip to Montrose on the opening day on August 17.
Speaking to the official club website after linking back up with her teammates following the summer break, the winger expressed the team’s eagerness to get going once again.
She said: “It is always good to get time off away from football.
“Spend time with your family and friends so it was good but I was just buzzing to get back in so let's get ready for the new season.
“It has been tough so far, but it is going to be good for us.
“We are raring to go; we have missed out on the league the last three years.
“Ending negatively not winning it but we want to go out and win the league so it is just getting ready for that.
“End of season? We obviously ended it on the second last week quite negatively but I think we have bounced back and we went on and won the Scottish Cup.
“Kept our cup again so that shows the character that we have in the dressing room.
“Ending so negatively and then going out and winning another cup, the girls were great on the day too.
“Everyone is buzzing to get the league back going.
“We have got some pre-season friendlies coming up so will get them done and then into it again.”
Following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season the youngster was rewarded for her form with a Scotland debut during their Nations League matchup against Austria at Hampden, as McAulay described the emotion she was feeling pulling on the A squad jersey for the first time.
She continued: “It was amazing, it was something that I was working towards.
“Obviously being in previous camps and never got the chance but under Melissa she has gave me my chance and I was buzzing to get on against Austria but to get the start against the Netherlands it was amazing.
“It was kind of surreal; I didn't really expect it to be honest.
“I just went into the camp and said just work hard and I have got my shot.
“Melissa Andreatta? She has been really good, again it is a new manager that has come in so it was a fresh start for everyone.
“She was really good with me, obviously being a young player it is hard but she spoke to me and kept me grounded so it has been good.
“Learning off top players? It is amazing, I have grown up watching these older players play and now that I am training with them.
“Even just eating lunch or something with them it has been amazing. I learn so much from them day in day out.”
In the upcoming campaign, the Gers squad will be playing more games than ever before at Ibrox, with the 18-year-old saying it is exciting times to look forward to for everyone involved.
She added: “It is a great time for the club.
“We want to move forward with women's football and I think Rangers are doing that getting more games at Ibrox.
“I think it will be good for us and the team so hopefully we go out and put a show on when we play there.
“Previous results there? I think we need to go and prove everyone wrong.
