Both teams come into the fixture having won their opening nine games this season, with the Light Blues currently sitting at the summit of the table by virtue of goal difference.
Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s fixture, Middag says the side are targeting a positive performance and result when they make the short trip across Glasgow: “I'm excited for the game. We've had some really good training sessions, even last week as well when some of the girls were away on international duty. These are the games that you love playing in as a player. We want to do ourselves justice and give the fans a good game as well.
"We've both played nine games and have 27 points, so the only difference between us is goal difference which is fortunately in our favour. In order for us to stay at the top we need to keep winning and that's what we hope to do on Sunday.”
The 29-year-old is one of the more senior members of a Rangers squad that features a mix of youth and experience, and Middag hopes to show her leadership qualities over the coming weeks with the big games coming thick and fast.
She continued: "I'm really enjoying my football at the moment, being in that experienced role. I can use all the experience that I've gained in the last 10-12 years of football. I intend to have an important role in this team and that's what I have to show in the games as well.
"The big games are the games that you want to play in. We're very much looking forward to Sunday to hopefully get the three points, then we're hosting Celtic in our home stadium.
“The men have a big break with the World Cup ongoing right now, so we hope to get as many fans as possible to the stadium. Tickets are only £1! We're looking forward to that game as well, but our first focus is on Sunday.”
