MIKEY Moore was delighted to get off the mark with a first goal for Rangers in this afternoon’s 3-0 victory over Dundee at Dens Park.
Danny Röhl’s men made it three wins on the bounce in the Scottish Premiership, and the 18-year-old was thrilled to play his part in a dominant performance for the Light Blues.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Moore said: “It was an enjoyable game, it was a good one to play in obviously winning and getting a goal. I almost had another one, but I am happy with the one.
“We played a few nice passes and the ball just dropped for me. Luckily, I could take it away from the defender and then I just shot as quickly as I could because I was happy that I was in front of goal.
"When I scored the second one, I said to the boys, I think I am offside. I wasn’t but it was in the build-up there was a decision, it is frustrating, but I am happy with the way the game went.
“In these games, you have to start quick, there have been too many times in the season where we haven’t started quick enough but today, we picked up two goals early which was gave us a bit of control in the game. In the second-half we could’ve had a bit more control and that is something we will work on.”
The goal topped off a positive few weeks for the on-loan Spurs youngster, who has found his form under the new coaching staff, reflecting on it, he said: “I have been a good experience, and it has been very positive.
"Even although some of the results haven’t gone our way, the boys have stuck together and there has been a lot more positivity in the group. I’m happy, and I think everyone is at the moment.”
With club football on hold for the international break, Moore insists there’s plenty for the squad to build on when they return, he added: “I’m happy to be going away with England and we just need to come back and just carry on with where we have left off, we need to pick up points and keep building.”
