MOHAMED Diomande says the Ranges squad are ready to show their character as they head for Tynecastle in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow evening.
Danny Röhl’s side travel to Edinburgh to take on top-of-the-table Hearts in another crucial fixture in the title race.
Speaking to the press ahead of the fixture, Diomande says the squad are really motivated to respond from last week’s game against Motherwell.
He said: “We know it was not the best game last weekend as we wanted to get a result, but obviously we know we are still in the race, and we cannot give up now, we have four more games to play and we are really motivated.
If it is going to be a fight to win the game, then we need to do it. It is going to come back to the character, and we need to stand up for ourselves.
“We know it is going to be a tough place to play on Monday. We don't know how they are going to play, but we know they are going to fight a lot, so we are ready for that, and we are going there to try and implement our game plan and take the three points.
“We will need to put on a massive performance and work hard. We know that it might not come easy for us, but we are going to do everything we can to win the game.”
Diomande has found a starting role difficult to come by in recent weeks, but said he continues to do all he can to impact the team.
He said: “There are great players in the position I am playing in, and they have also shown that they can be starting. I do everything I can to try and be available to play.
The midfielder was asked if he believed the squad could get themselves into this position when Danny Röhl joined as head coach back in October. He said: “I would say yes because when he came in, he was very clear as to what he wanted.
“We had a good run also with him, and we won many games. I will say it is because of the work we have been doing on the details.
In training, we are really focused on that, so I think from the first day we had the belief we could get to where we are now. We are not done yet, but we are going to do everything to finish good.”
