The 22-year-old defender, who has already amassed experience across Europe, met-up with the team at the St George’s Park pre-season training camp as he got to work with Russell Martin’s squad.
In an exclusive first interview with the club, Djiga said: “I am very happy, it will be good to work with the team. First of all, I want to play a lot of games and one of my objectives is to make the fans happy. When I leave, I want the fans to always remember me as one of the defenders who was here. That is my objective.
“Rangers is one of the biggest clubs in Scotland and in Europe. I will give everything, to play every game with the team. I think it is one of the best teams for me. It is a good decision, and I just want to play and enjoy playing with the team.”
On his career so far, which has seen the 22-year-old play in Burkina Faso, Switzerland, France, Serbia and England, he said: “It is always difficult when you start your career in Africa, and in Burkina it was a little bit difficult when I started.
“My ambition and my passion pushed me to give everything, to get this objective to be a professional footballer. I gave everything and today I am really happy and so proud.
“First, I joined a team in Switzerland, it was good because I was very very young, it was my first professional contract. I didn't play a lot of games, but it was a good experience. After I joined a Nimes in France, I played a lot of games. It was a different country and different football still, but I always tried to adapt and give everything.
After I joined the Serbian League, with Red Star Belgrade, where I played a lot of games and it was one of the best moments I lived and after that again I moved to England. I am very happy and now. I am excited and now I can't wait to start with Rangers.”
On working with head coach Russell Martin and what fans can expect from him, he continued: “I feel happy when I speak with him because I knew him when I joined the Premier League, when I spoke to him it was good, and I am really excited to work with him.
“I am good with the ball, and very aggressive. Defensively, I am a very very quick defender. I am just like a normal defender, with the ball and without the ball I am very focused.”
