Nedmin Bajrami Eager to Make an Impact at Rangers

NEDIM BAJRAMI insists he’s relishing the chance to finally show the Rangers fans what he is all about.

The Albanian midfielder joined Philippe Clement’s side in the closing hours of the transfer window last month.

He wasn’t involved in the final game before the international break but starred for his nation recently in matches against Ukraine and Georgia.

The 25-year-old is in line to make his Gers debut in Sunday’s away trip to Dundee United and Bajrami can’t wait to get started.

Speaking to the media to preview the match, he said: “When I heard Rangers wanted me I was excited by that.

“My agent and I went to London and the next day I flew to Glasgow, met the manager and then we went to Ibrox.

“I signed on the last day, it was a stressful day, but I was really happy to join Rangers, such a great club with a lot of history.

“I then went away with the international team, so today was my first training session and it was great to meet everyone.

“We have a good dressing room and I feel really happy already. I have played against Vaclav Cerny, so I know him.

“I am ready to play as I have just played two games for Albania, but it is up to the coach if I play.

“We have pressure every week here. I am happy to have that pressure and I like that.

“I will always do my best for the team and the past is in the past and Sunday is an important game against Dundee United.

“I like to play with the ball and most of the games we have the ball - I will try to get as many goals and assists to help the team.”

Bajrami admits it was a simple decision to swap Italian side Sassuolo for a new challenge at Ibrox.

He is well aware of the history of winning silverware and the expectation to lift more trophies, but he says he is keen to bring success to Ibrox.

He added: “I have played in Italy for the last five years and it is very tactical.

“I spoke to a few players who have played in Scotland before about coming to Rangers. They told me good things about Scotland and the football here.

“I like to play forward, assist and score to help the team. I can play on the left-wing, but I prefer to play as the No10, but I will play where I am asked.

“If someone is in a better position than me, I like to assist them.

“The manager wants to play good football and play forward. I think I can help the team with the international experience I have. I am still young, but I have a lot of experience and I want to use that.

“I’m looking to adapt as fast as possible and my goal here is to win trophies, to do my best for the team and fans.”
