Nico Raskin Focused On Three Points At Tynecastle

NICO RASKIN insists Rangers are heading to the capital to collect all three points against Hearts.

The Light Blues are looking to get back to winning ways as they travel along the M8 for Monday night’s Tynecastle clash.

The Jambos have not been defeated on their home patch this campaign, but the Belgian international believes Danny Rohl’s men can be the first and keep their title bid on track.

Speaking to the media, he said: “I think it is clear for everyone that we have to win if we want to increase our chances of winning the league.

“Last Sunday against Motherwell was disappointing, but we have the belief. If we don’t believe, then no one else will.

“Hearts have been good this season and are finding a way to win, and that’s what matters, especially at this stage, but we are going there with a plan, and to win the game.

“The game against them at Ibrox was a good game, and it is a good foundation to look at. We know what we did well that day, and we need to try to do even better.

“It will be tough, in the first 10 or 15 minutes, they will come at us, but we have to show that strong mentality.

“It will be a fight, and we are ready for that. They will be up for the game, but we don’t need to focus on quieting their fans; it is about us going there to win and close the gap.

“I don’t think we can talk about mentality, we came back from 13 points behind, to a position where we can win the title.

“Hearts is almost like a do-or-die game. If we win, we are in it - if we lose, it will be tough for us.

“Winning trophies is something I have dreamed about, and I was so disappointed after Motherwell, but in football you can’t dwell on it.

“You have to think about the next game and make sure you win to see what happens.

“Everyone has a part to play to respond by showing the intensity in training and showing they want to win, and we are doing that.

“It is easy to talk, but it is up to us to go there and win the game.”

Captain James Tavernier will leave the club at the end of the season, and Raskin says the skipper will be missed.

He added: “Tav is the best captain I could have had.

“He has been top with everyone, every single day. We have been chatting with the boys. We want to give the title to Tav.

“He deserves that title for everything he has done for the club, and it would be amazing for him to win the title.

“It is up to us to win the four games with him now.”
