Lizzie Arnot’s second-half strike was the difference at Rangers Training Centre as Hibs’ defence proved difficult to break down.
Docherty was delighted to pick up the three points, speaking to Rangers TV after the game she said: “We are very pleased to get the three points, I think these are the kind of games that are going to be difficult because Hibs are a really good side.
“They were sitting in against us and we just had to be patient to finally get that goal and it was a great goal by Lizzie and we are absolutely delighted to get the three points.
“Defensively that is what you want as a back four to get a clean sheet and the girls were excellent today in terms of defensive duties, we have been patient and we have managed to grind out a result today.
“We have probably not been at our best but it is all about getting the three points.
Arnot’s strike came just two minutes into the second-half and Docherty feels Rangers came out with a different intensity after the break.
She continued: “We had to remain patient and be composed on the ball and when we came out in the second-half you could really see that intensity from the players and that is where Lizzie got her goal and it was a great build-up play as well.
“We wanted to change the intensity and be relentless in our press and I think when we pressed we pressed well together as a team but credit to Hibs they played their game today and made it difficult for us.
“It is also credit to us that we have been able to grind out the result as well and we are just delighted to get the three points.”
Rangers face Celtic on Wednesday night, a tie Docherty says the squad will be ready for.
She added: “We will do a bit of recovery and get ourselves on the bike to make sure we are in the best shape possible for that match.
“It is a game that everybody loves to see. We are really looking forward to it and it'll be another tough test but that is what it is all about and we will be ready come Wednesday.”
