The defender, who was named club captain at the beginning of the campaign, has committed her future to the Light Blues for the next two seasons.
Speaking to RangersTV after agreeing the new deal, the skipper is looking forward to for what’s to come in the future for the side.
She commented: “The group is probably the strongest that it has been.
“I think the real togetherness is within the squad and it is mad to say this but I think the girls can't already wait for pre-season to begin because we just want to kick on and win as much as we can.
“I think that is the culture that Jo has created here is that willingness to win. You can see that from a lot of our performances, even just against Glasgow City recently, you are just finding a way to win.
“I think that is so important when you represent a club like Rangers to keep kicking on.”
The Scotland international has spoken of her role in leading the team these season, captaining the side to Sky Sports Cup success as well as taking on a greater responsibility for the talented youngsters that have broken through in the squad.
She continued: “The club itself is built on a history of winning trophies, so to emulate that as a women's side that is something we are really trying to push forward to do and win as many trophies as we can.
“To get that one over the line it was great, it was a great spectacular moment for Scottish women's football.
“The fans turned out in their numbers and we are trying to drive that here at Rangers as well.
“Getting as many fans at the games as possible so to go lift and that trophy was a really proud moment for us as a group and hopefully we can keep kicking on to do more.
“I think even before I was given captaincy I am very much like that.
“I am a person who is very trustworthy and always open to conversations.
“Obviously the young players I like to make sure that I am trying to help them as much as possible.
“To know that they are putting themselves in a position to be playing and I think you have seen that from our young players this season.
“They have been given a lot of opportunities to play and on merit as well because I think they have been excellent.
“It comes with a responsibility of having the captaincy but at the same time there are so many other players that players rely on as well.
“Everyone has got close people within the team and there is always someone that they can go and chat to as well.”
Rangers will also have European football to look forward to the next season having narrowly missed out on a spot in the current campaign, with Docherty feeling it is where the team deserves to be.
She added: “We are a group that deserve to be playing on that platform. Personally that is what I believe and I think the group of players that we have had this season have earned that for us.
“Everyone has played their part in it and I think it was huge that we got back on that stage.
“It is the ultimate competition for club football so we wanted to make sure that we could make it back there.
“To secure a Champions League spot was huge for us especially playing at a club like Rangers built on history of being in European competitions so we wanted to make sure that we were going to be making it back on that stage.”
