NICOLA Docherty believes starting the season with maximum points can only help confidence going forward in the SWPL.
With victories against Hearts, Spartans and Hibs, Docherty says it shows how much hard work has been put in over the break as the new squad continues to gel.
Speaking to RangersTV she said: “I think the girls have worked extremely hard during lockdown and we've all come back to training fit so I think it is amazing what we have done in terms of getting the maximum points out of the games so far.
“I think it is incredibly important to get confidence. Obviously it is a completely new team and to have gelled so quickly has been great.
“We are incredibly proud to get the points from those games and I think going forward we are only going to get more confidence from that.”
Rangers host Celtic at the training ground on Sunday, in the first Old Firm match of the season.
Docherty is delighted fans will be able to watch the game after it was announced it will be streamed live on RangersTV.
She continued: “It's a game that when you play at this club it is an absolute buzz to be around, especially for me being a Rangers fan as well I know what it means to the club.
“At the end of the day, every game matters and three points is all we will be looking for.
“It is going to be a tough test, Celtic have improved as well but we just need to be at our absolute best to get the points that we need from that game.
“Women's football is a very technical game and it will be a great game to watch and it is one we will be looking to get maximum points from so I think why not just tune in and give it a try.
“I think it will be physical, I think it will be a high-tempo game. They have got threats as well, so we just need to be on our game and fully-focused and ready for Sunday.”
