Rangers host their city rivals in the Sky Sports Cup semi-final last four at Broadwood, looking to take a step closer to retaining the trophy they have claimed in the past three campaigns.
Speaking to the official Rangers website to look ahead to the latest derby clash, she said: “We are really looking forward to the game on Sunday. We know that it's a cup that has been generous to us over the last couple of years.
“It is something that we really want to push for. We know it is always difficult to play against them, but we know if we play at our best, we can definitely come out on top.
"We need to make sure that we are doing the basics as well as everything else on the day.
“There are many players that are still here that have managed to be part of those trophy wins.
“We really need to make sure that we rely on each other in difficult moments in the game to make sure that we pull through.
“We know that we need to be at our best and make sure that we use that past experience to come out on top.”
Leanne Crichton’s side have been impressive in the derby meetings between the teams this campaign, winning both previous fixtures as the skipper gave an insight into the key elements of coming out on top in these matches.
She continued: “I think when it comes to the games vs Celtic, it always comes down to the small margins.
“Mentality is a massive thing in these fixtures.
“We know that there is so much going on outside and surrounding the fixture itself, but we need to make sure that we keep everything in-house and make sure that we are really focused on the game.
“It also takes individual brilliance as well. You look at some of the moments in these games that we have come out on top, and you look at Eilidh Austin's header, Mia McAulay cutting in at Ibrox and scoring, they are massive moments.
“We have had those really tough fixtures, and we knew that was what it was going to be when we were coming back in. We needed to make sure that we were doing the right things away from football so we were ready for those fixtures.
“Some of those games I thought we were excellent, and it is just the small margins in these types of fixtures that you need to make sure that you are doing the basics right.
“I feel like we are in a really good place. We are just kind of under the radar at the moment, but in a really good place. I am really excited to see what Sunday brings, and hopefully we can come out on top.”
There is however, players within the dressing room yet to experience the highs and lows of the Old Firm and no more so than Calliste Brookshire. The winger has had an impressive start to life in Glasgow, with her teammate highlighting the impact she has had on the dressing room and what it would mean to reach another final.
She added: “Brookshire? She has been excellent since she came in.
“It almost feels like she has been here for quite some time.
“You have got so much competition within the squad now, so it is important that players around Cal and everyone within the squad feel that pressure of wanting to maintain a shirt because that is what it is all about now, because there are so many players that are pushing for that starting spot.
“It is going to be key for us in the long term because I think it is really important when you get to the split, and stuff, touch wood injuries can happen, but people need to be ready to step up as well.
“It is massive, I have touched on it before, there is nothing better than a cup final day and the chance to win that first bit of silverware of the season. It is a cup that everybody really wants to win because other teams at the back of that have not had that success; it has been us.
“We know that there are teams around us that really want to be trying to get that trophy back, where they've had but we at the same time want to make sure that we want to retain it as well.
“We know that is going to be a difficult run-in, but it is a special day come the cup final and the chance to win that silverware, nothing gets better.”
