The Light Blues claimed the trophy for the second season running with a 2-1 win over rivals Celtic thanks to goals in stoppage time from Kirsty Maclean and a Kirsty Howat penalty.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory the defender highlighted the leaders on the pitch for all playing their part as the Gers put on a much improved second half showing to claim the win.
She said: “I think when you go behind in football it is important to see who has got the character within the dressing room and you can start to see that there is plenty of players on the pitch who are leaders.
“It is not just me on the park there is so many other people who are leaders in this team, and that is what it takes at the top level to get through. It is amazing to see that we have got that fighting mentality to come back in these matches and hopefully it will stand us in good stead going forward.”
The captain on the day said she was delighted the side were able to respond to a slow start after falling behind early and has credited her teammates for their showing in the second 45 minutes.
She continued: “It was a good tough test at the right time for us, we are obviously still kind of in that pre-season phase, Celtic caused us problems in the first half. It is something that we spoke about at half-time, about being more composed on the ball and being more aggressive in our press.
“I think you could see the difference coming out in the second half, we were much better and we are just delighted to get the win in the end.”
The 30-year-old states the side are still continuing to learn the new ideas of their head coach but believes they can take confidence from claiming silverware over their rivals at this stage before the league season gets underway.
She said: “We are still in that learning phase and I think that is important as a footballer, you never know everything all the time, we are learning together as a team, a new formation and what Jo is telling us at training.
"It seems to be really working well for us, it is a fresh start and we are all just really excited and I think what is important is that all the players are buying into it as well, that is so important.
“We are looking forward to getting out to Spain, some hot weather training and then to come back fit and raring to go for the season to start.”
