With the SWPL suspension extended until at least February 14, Docherty said things have been made a little easier with the close-knit squad and support from the backroom staff.
Speaking to RangersTV she said: “It is obviously difficult. It is hard being away from the club just when you get into a stride but it is just about keeping focussed and being as fit as we can for when we are ready to come back.
“I couldn't be any more thankful for the club, during lockdown we have been in zoom calls with the rest of the staff and even if you are struggling mentally or having a down day there are wellbeing staff there if you need them.
“The club has been brilliant in that aspect and everyone has been keeping in touch and making sure everyone is doing ok, so the support and the staff have been incredible.
“The squad have gelled amazingly and we are just like one big family. We are all good friends as well as teammates so it makes it a little bit easier.”
Looking back on the start to the league campaign, Docherty feels there’s still more to come from the squad.
She continued: “We have put ourselves in a really good position going into the Christmas break there.
“We are obviously top of the league but we know as a group of girls that a season is not won or lost in one game so for us it is just about staying focussed and making sure we are training in the best way, we are eating the right way.
“It is cliche to say but just taking one game at a time so we are happy where we are at but we know we have still got a lot more to give.”
Docherty will make her RangersTV studio debut on Wednesday night as she joins Emma Dodds and Neil McCann for the live broadcast as Steven Gerrard’s side take on St Johnstone.
She added: “I am delighted, I am a Rangers fan as well so to be sat next to the likes of Neil McCann and Emma Dodds is great.
“I am delighted to be on the TV with them and hopefully it will be an enjoyable experience.
“It is incredible that I have even been asked to do it, I think that shows the backing of Rangers Football Club and what they are wanting to do here to set that one club [ethos].
“I am delighted to go on but hopefully it creates more opportunities for the rest of the girls.”
