The Light Blues host Celtic at Broadwood Stadium sitting atop the league table having netted 51 times and conceded just once in their opening seven league outings.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of tonight’s clash, the Gers captain commented: “We’re in really good form at the moment with the goals that we’ve scored.
“Jo [Potter] has brought in Wilko who has added quality upfront, but the goals are still coming from everyone.
“It’s pleasing to see, and the defenders are stepping up as well. We’re in a really good place, but we know we need to be at our best to get a result.
“It’s a really exciting fixture and one that fans love to watch from the outside. It’s great that it’s going to be on Sky Sports.
“It’s always a good encounter against our rivals and it will be a physical game; fast and attacking football. We’re really excited for it and we can’t wait.
“I’ve been a Rangers fan since I was a young kid, so I know what these occasions are about.
“The main thing for us as players is the mentality aspect, which becomes a really important part of the game. I’m pretty sure the girls are right up for it, as I am.”
There has been a relentlessness from the Light Blues this campaign, racking up an 11-0, 10-0, and a pair of 9-0 scorelines.
The visit of their Old Firm rivals will present a different test entirely, but Docherty says the preparation for the encounter remains the same as always.
She added: “These are the types of games that I love to play in. We know that it’s going to be a difficult match.
“They are in good form at the minute, but equally so are we. We’ll be more than ready; all the analysis has been done on the pitch and we can’t wait to get going.
“We always have the exact same preparations that we do week in, week out. It’ll be no different because we’re playing Celtic, and we’re all raring to go now.
“If I think back to my first derby fixture then I was probably a little bit nervous. I have a more experienced head on me now that I’ve played in a few of them and I’m a little bit older.
“There are a lot of girls in the dressing room who have that experience and it’s going to be really important on Thursday.
“We want to create an atmosphere and make it really feel like a home game. Hopefully we can get the ticket sales going and get a great support because it really does help.”
