The Light Blues are on an impressive 10-match unbeaten run, including scoring 19 goals in their last two outings.
Speaking to the official club website ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Montrose, she commented: “Of course, the main objective is the three points, you always want to go into the international break with a win.
“We know this will be a tough game. Montrose don't really concede a lot of goals, and that’s why they are in this position, fighting for this top six spot, but we have to focus on us, and that is to win.
“We are feeling that as well as a coaching staff and players, we say it a lot in our post-match analysis sessions, the things that we are doing really well, but we are also aware of things we need to get better at too.
“Sunday, I think we started with so much intensity and hunger in front of the goal, and I think that’s why we managed to get through to the next round. We spoke about being relentless in front of the goal, but also our defensive third, and I think you could see that.
“I think it’s excellent to see the squad depth now, to think where we were at the start of the season until now really shows the competitive edge we have now.
“Nobody’s spot in the team is safe unless you are performing, and that’s always going to benefit the team as a whole.”
The captain struck in last Sunday’s 8-0 success over Partick Thistle, her first goal in blue in almost three years, spanning 861 days, with the defender reflecting on the moment that had been a long time in coming. She continued: “To be honest, it had felt so long because almost every single game, my teammates would be like, 'This is the day Nic’.
“I usually laughed it off as I knew it had been so long, and I tend not to shoot as the strikers usually shout at me, mainly Wilko, as they usually aren’t even on target when I do shoot, so I’m glad it finally paid off.
“Of course, you are usually looking at your players higher up the pitch that make the majority of contributions, but it’s nice to see the defenders getting some credit and shows the amount of versatility we have in the team.”
The Scotland international has looked back on the strides the squad has made under Leanne Crichton so far this season, from when the two teams last faced off back on the opening day, believing it is a good place to be a part of as they target a strong end to the campaign. She added: “I always have confidence in what our group has. It’s always a special group, and you would find it hard to find what we have anywhere else.
“I think the biggest thing is the players buying into Leanne’s style of play, and you can see that on the pitch, playing with fluidity and freedom, but at the same time, she has standards as we all do and will always strive for more.
“We have come a long way since that first game and have improved a lot, so I’m excited to get to the game tomorrow and show what we are about since then.
“I’ve been part of this league for so long now, and to see the improvement year on year is fantastic for the outside and the fans.
“The last few seasons have gone down to the wire, and it just shows how competitive and on it you have to be if you want to be successful.
“It’s a really exciting time being at the club, still in the cup competitions and competing for the league.
“We know the cups have been generous to us over the years, and there’s nothing harder in football to retain, but I believe in every single player we have in the dressing room and the staff, and I know we will give everything to continue delivering that success.”
