The Light Blues fell just short in the title finale at Ibrox at the weekend, but now swiftly turn their attention to the final day of the season in search of a domestic cup double for the second campaign running.
Speaking to the media at Hampden Park ahead of the showpiece final against Glasgow City this weekend, she commented: “I think the girls are hungrier to go and get the trophy.
“It was obviously a difficult one to deal with that on Sunday and try bounce back straight away it is tough but I think these are the games that you want straight away.
“I think it would have been a lot harder to deal with if we didn't have a cup final to look forward to and everyone is going on international break, their holidays and we don't see each other again until pre-season.
“I think it is a really good opportunity for us to bounce back.
“Hangover from last week? Absolutely not, I don't think there is any time for hangovers.
“We have almost been used to that feeling which is the tough one.
“We know that we have got an opportunity to bounce back and win more trophies and bring them back to the club.
“It is a trophy that we won last year, it was a great day last year winning that trophy it was a lot of pride in that feeling but we know it is going to be a tough game, but if we are at our absolute best there is no reason we can't come out on top.
“What to expect on Sunday? A really tough game, I would be really honest in saying it I think Glasgow City are a top side.
“The way they move the ball and keep possession they are excellent at it. But I think when you also look at us and when we are on it, we are a top side as well and it is a cup final and it is down to fine margins, so whoever wants it more will definitely come out on top.”
The captain acknowledged the disappointment in the camp following Sunday’s defeat to Hibs in the title decider at Ibrox, but insists everyone is keen to put things right when they step foot out at the National Stadium come Sunday afternoon.
She continued: “The reaction of every single player in the dressing room was the hurt. That feeling that we have come up against way too many times.
“A difficult one to take but I think when you look over the course of the season Hibs were probably the most consistent team over the course of the season and that is something that is tough for us because I think we do have really talented players in the dressing but we had a really good analysis session on Tuesday.
“We really dug deep into it to make sure everybody knew exactly where we went wrong but we have got a chance to bounce back and win a trophy to end on a high.
“I think I will always have confidence because I genuinely believe what we have in the dressing room is talented.
“We have got young players we have got Kirsty Maclean, Mia McAulay and then when you combine that with experience players I genuinely do believe that we have a squad that can go and take care of business on Sunday.
“We know it is going to be tough because Glasgow City have proven over the season that they are an excellent side as well. We need to turn up and we need to turn up when it matters most and that comes on Sunday.”
The Scotland international admits victory in the season’s final outing won’t take away the disappointment from falling short in the SWPL, but still views it is a successful campaign as Jo Potter’s side look to defend the trophy they won for the first time in their history last season.
She added: “If we were fall short on Sunday that would be tougher to take because I think if you have got the chance to take two trophies home it can maybe help heal the wounds slightly.
“I am not going to say it is going to heal it completely because ultimately everybody wants to win the league. You want to get Champions League spots and that is something that we have missed out on this year. Which was crucial for us because we wanted that as well and we have not got that.
“To end on a high with this group that I believe in every single one of them still, it would be bittersweet but it would be nice to end on a trophy.
“I think to win trophies in this league is difficult, so to win two trophies I do think it is successful but is not the trophy that we want, it is not that we don't want it but ultimately everybody wants to win the league but I think winning those two trophies and doing it back-to-back is still success.”
