Oliver Antman: We Fully Believe We Can Overcome

The Light Blues trail 3-1 from the first leg ahead of the playoff round decider in Belgium tomorrow night.

Winger Antman knows it won’t be easy, but he believes the squad have the quality to reach the league phase ahead of the Old Firm derby on Sunday.

Speaking to the media, he said: “Do we believe we can turn it around? That’s the plan. We have full belief that we can still go through.

“When we go behind, we start playing with good intensity and energy, so we need to do that from the first minute.

“We aren’t thinking about Celtic we are focusing on Brugge and we want to get to the Champions League.

“If we were to make the Champions League it would be right up there in terms of my career.

“I have had some big wins, like the Dutch Cup but to play in the Champions League would be huge and a dream come true.

“It is a big motivation for every player to get there. We have a real chance, it is tough but I believe we can do it if we do the right things.”

Antman joined the club from Go Ahead Eagles and while he is loving life at Ibrox, he believes his best is yet to come.

He added: “The expectations here are high and we need to win every game and a draw is a loss, so it is not a surprise.

“I am dealing with it the best way I can and I am trying to improve every day. The first few weeks haven’t been the best from me, and I can do better, so I am focusing on that and helping the team.

“The team is new, we have new players, a new coach, a new system and it always takes time.

“At this club you don’t really get much time and you have to get results straight away, but we accept that.”
