Lee Johnson’s side head into the fixture in impressive form off the back of three straight victories in the league, most recently a 4-1 victory over Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Edinburgh club have enjoyed a fantastic few weeks and have turned a corner under their current manager, unbeaten in their last seven outings in the Scottish Premiership including five wins.
Their last two defeats have come in two separate competitions at the hands of rivals Hearts in the Scottish Cup on 22 January, and their last defeat in the league coming back on the second day of the year from the same side.
Currently occupying fourth place, Wednesday’s opponents will have an eye on catching city rivals Hearts in third as they sit five points behind them having played the same number of games, whilst hoping to collect a European place as we head into the closing months of the season.

Lee Johnson was appointed in the summer 2022 at Easter Road having previously managed Sunderland for two years from 2020.
The Englishman won the 2021 EFL Trophy with his former club before being replaced by Alex Neil before a quick turnaround saw him take over the Edinburgh side in May last year.
After a slow start to life in the Scottish capital, Hibs have turned a corner in recent weeks with their results as the team have adapted further to their boss’ style most notably in recent weeks as they now sit in fourth place in the Premiership table.
STYLE OF PLAY
The manager has persisted with the 4-2-3-1 system in recent weeks which has brought them success with three wins on the bounce. Operating with an alternated 4-1-4-1 formation in Dingwall in his side’s 1-1 draw with Ross County the Hibs boss has made the switch and his side are reaping the benefits of it.
Elie Youan has often operated from a wider area in the frontline in recent weeks with Josh Campbell being a mainstay in the midfield and being the one to break the lines and support the attack from deep, Joe Newell has been a consistent performer in midfield and can operate in a number of central roles.
The back four has remained consistent in recent games conceding just two goals in their last five outings and enjoying back-to-back clean sheets at home in the league.
KEY PLAYER
Elie Youan has been the inform player in the Hibs side in recent weeks scoring five goals in his last five games.
The winger has started every game since the sides’ last meeting at Ibrox in December and will be one to watch for the visitors.
The 23-year-old can operate in both a winger and striker position and most recently scored twice in Hibs’ 4-1 win at Livingston at the weekend.
Mainly providing assists in the early part of the season, the forward has been the main source of goals in recent outings and will be one to keep an eye on for the Gers on Wednesday night.

Rangers looked set to leave the capital victorious before Josh Campbell’s long range strike in the second minute of stoppage time meant the hosts claimed a point right at the end.
