The Light Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie, with captain James Tavernier netting a late penalty to pick up a point.
The manager knows the start – which saw the home side take an early lead through Bojan Miovski’s strike – wasn’t good enough, but we praised his players for bouncing back to claim a share of the spoils.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “We should have had three points but the start wasn’t bright enough and sharp enough in the duals.
“We lost a goal and I wasn’t happy with it, but we reacted well and they did what they have to do.
“We had really big opportunities, in an away game, against a team who defends with a lot of numbers – especially when they are leading.
“James showed composure and it was a deserved penalty.
“Afterwards we had a chance to win the game, we were really close to the deserved three points but it is not the case.
“This season is a marathon, maybe at the end of the road, this point is really important.”
Clement saw his side hit the woodwork twice, with Dons keeper Kelle Roos also producing a number of fine saves to deny the Gers the victory.
The Ibrox gaffer believes luck wasn’t on his side’s part this afternoon.
He added: “There are a lot of positives to take out, but we needed that bit of luck.
“We have learned a good lesson that we need to raise our standards, from the start we need to be on top of things, for 90 minutes. We showed we are a good side.
“They raised the standards, we dominated the game, we created chances and then you need a bit of luck to score goals.
“We never had that luck, we hit the crossbar twice and we had other options where their goalkeeper made some good saves.
“I would be more frustrated if the players were not doing the right things and creating chances or fighting and staying resilient.
“They did all of those things. Luck is part of football, some days the ball drops for you and others it doesn’t.”
