The Gers boss, who committed his future to the club with a until summer 2028 yesterday, sat down with the media ahead of tomorrow’s league opener at Hearts.
Clement says he has fallen in love with the club since taking over as manager in October, and insists everyone is aligned in their vision for the future.
He said: “It is not only playing the games or playing a part on the pitch, but also off the pitch and it is important to create a culture here, a top sport culture and a really demanding culture where everybody is on their toes every day.
“We want the players coming in with a lot of ambition to become better and then if we can create this culture, it is our task as a staff to give them all the tools to develop every day and to challenge them.
“You need people with the right mentality coming into the building, so we had a lot of talks with these players before they came in also about that, about themselves, about their past, about their experiences but also what Rangers is about. This is a special place to come, you either love it or you hate it. I love it, that is why I want to stay.”
When asked what latest signing can bring, Clement continued: “He is going to bring leadership, coaching qualities on the pitch, he is going to give a good example for the younger players how to be professional and he has really good qualities on the ball, so he is going to help us also to play a good kind of football.”
With nine signings so far this summer transfer window, and a fresh look to the Rangers squad, Clement was asked if patience would be important in the opening stages of the season as the Light Blues head to Tynecastle tomorrow.
He added: “It is logical yes that there needs to be patience, but it doesn't mean that some things can't click really fast so that is always the challenge. You have players who adapt really fast and who step into the building and a week later they show their best football, you have players who need weeks, some players need months, to get used to things.
“I don't know one manager in the world who can predict that that is impossible to do so of course we need time. With the team also the way we want to play it is in a structured way, with the ball and without the ball so that means you need to get experience out of that you make faults, and you learn out of that.
“It is like a book, everyday it is a page, every week there are a few pages, and the book becomes thicker and thicker. In that way it is easier if you keep the core that you had and you add a few new signings to make it better then we would be further now but the club was in another moment with contracts and also with the age of players, their level so you need a little bit of time to fit the puzzle in every sense.
“If you see how many players left the building, came in, and how many young players who still need to learn things it is a squad with a lot of potential. Does that mean tomorrow we are going to see the best Rangers tomorrow? I think you will see some interesting things. I am confident of that.”
