Rangers welcome the Romanian side to Glasgow for matchday three in the league phase, and the manager insists his squad are eager to get back on the pitch following Sunday’s defeat to Kilmarnock.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Clement said: “We are focused on ourselves, to play our game and then we will see what team they come with, but it is about us. It is always important to win the next game, that is what this club is about, so we are really hungry for the game and looking forward to tomorrow.
“We talked about it after the Kilmarnock game that nobody was happy with the level of performance and for sure with the result so then you need to switch your mindset and look forward. You want to react as fast as possible, that is what is going on in the dressing room.
“You want the next game to come and to win that one, that is what football is about. You need to enjoy the good moments, but not too much because a few days later there is another game and you need to be ready again, and in the difficult moments you need to switch fast and react in a good way so that is what I expect from tomorrow.”
Clement said the hard work is continuing, as looks to create stability with his squad. He continued: “It is about creating consistency again, creating momentum with the results and to create stability. Everybody must work hard to get that in the next weeks and months to come.
“We are going to keep on working hard to make things better as fast as possible, that I can give to the fans. People who are not happy now, I understand, I totally understand.”
The manager and his coaching staff watched the B team in the SPFL Trust Trophy on Tuesday evening, and Clement said he was impressed with Zak Lovelace, and was delighted to see striker Danilo continue his return from injury with a goal.
On Danilo and Lovelace, he continued: “Danilo still has a long way to go but he is going to be important in the things we want to achieve in the next couple of months. It is about daily work on a lot of things.
“Zak can do specific things in another style compared to other players in the squad but there are still also a lot of things to work on, but that is also normal. He is an interesting profile for the future and for the near future.
“We decided before the B team game that he would play a maximum of 60 minutes, and we would decide during half-time but in the first-half I saw enough because I want him on the bench for Thursday. If it is necessary, we can use that kind of profile because we have less in the squad now because of injury to other players.”
