The Light Blues were unfortunate not to take all three points against the North London side in Govan as Dejan Kulusevski’s leveller cancelled out yet another Hamza Igamane strike.
Indeed, Clement’s side were certainly the better of the two teams, with standout performances from several players across the pitch.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, the Gers boss commented: “I think everyone can be proud, and you also felt it in the stands.
“But we’re not satisfied after the game; we all wanted to win and I think we deserved to, so it’s always harsh when you don’t get the result that you deserve.
“You can see the improvement in the team and the hunger and desire to become better.
“We’ve been working hard to get them physically and tactically better and to understand the movements together at the right times.
“The machine starts to go better and better in that way, but it’s a normal process and everyone is really involved in the squad.
“We need to continue in the next months to make it better and better again. There is a lot of potential in this squad for the future and this is not the end of the road of the team.
“It’s a beginning, and if you can do games like tonight in that process against Tottenham then it shows there is a bright future in the squad.”
Ibrox was rocking as the Rangers supporters responded to a display full of energy and quality against a side who finished just two points outside of the Champions League positions in the Premier League last season.
Clement believes his side fed off the energy of the home crowd and hopes the Gers support can bring the noise to Mount Florida as the Light Blues aim to add a second successive League Cup to the trophy cabinet on Sunday.
He added: “It was really difficult for me to reach the players in moments because of all the noise in the stands!
“But this is what we wanted and why players wanted to come to Rangers. The fans gave a lot of energy to the team. I count on them to repeat that on Sunday at Hampden.
“A cup is all or nothing so we’re going to go full to win this cup again.
“We know how good the feeling was and it’s going to be a massive game, but we can go with confidence – although not overconfidence – and keep the feet on the ground to continue doing what they have been doing.
“We’re on the right track and it’s now about recovering really fast for the cup final at Hampden.”
