The Light Blues make the short trip to New Douglas Park to take on Hamilton off the back of their impressive 4-1 win over Hearts upon the return from the international break.
Speaking ahead of the game the head coach feels the players who have returned to the squad over the past few weeks have helped up the team’s levels as they look to continue their winning run in the league on Sunday afternoon.
She said: “You can see that now, as soon as you see one or two players dropping back into training and into matchday squads you can see the competitive nature go up. We have been light on players for the first two months of the season, it has been difficult but that is just a real testament to the players that have been playing, they have been absolutely outstanding.
“They have managed to take on board a lot of information and play a lot of minutes in a lot of games. It has been really vital for us to get these players back in to up that competitive level and have competition for places but also just to up the competitive level day in day out and bring the best out of each other. They know that it is not easy to get a starting shirt or get off the bench now so it is really helpful.
“It is just building and progression, we are making sure that we are looking after our processes and we are doing things consistently well day in day out on the training pitch and looking to perform really well. We keep challenging the players, we keep looking and asking for more from them, not too much too soon but asking more from them as individuals and as a team.
“We are trying to layer it up quite nicely but trying to build up to a really good performance on Sunday.”
Potter has stressed the importance of another good performance against the Accies with the Gers heading into the fixture in fine form, scoring 28 goals in their last four outings.
She continued: “They have changed shape and formation a few different times. We have looked at them, we have looked at different shapes and formations that they can play, looked at the threats that they can cause, as always we are always wary of it.
“We are looking to implement our game plan and we are looking to build on the really good performance from Hearts at the weekend. I am looking for a good performance and looking to really kick on now and build onto the second part of the season.”
The former England international states full focus is on delivering another victory in their first league match since September 17 and says the team are not looking too far ahead with fixtures against Hibs at Ibrox and rivals Celtic to come.
She added: “We are building and we leading into something, we can't look too far because if you look too far ahead you can get caught out sometimes. There is no chance of us looking beyond Hamilton at the weekend, because that is the most important game for us. We know we have got to perform, and we know we have got to play well.
“We don't want to slip up at any point within our own progression and our standards, we are definitely looking for that and for the three points before we move onto anything else.”
