It was the head coach’s first match in charge of the Light Blues as they put a rampant showing to book their place in this weekend’s Glasgow Cup final.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory Potter was pleased with the number of goals her side scored as well as them continuing to go in search of more for the whole of the 90 minutes.
She said: “You can only be happy scoring 11 goals and keeping a clean sheet, I was really happy with the level that the girls kept it too.
“I think it could be easy sometimes to take your foot off the gas and that is something that we spoke about at half-time, was making sure we keep our foot on the throttle, keep going and keep trying to score as many goals as we can, so I was happy with that.”
The Gers had to be patient throughout the opening stages at Broadwood before a flurry of goals were to follow and the boss was happy with how the team clicked on the night and believes they will only improve going forward.
She continued: “It was pleasing for me and that is something that will get better, as connections build and the team spends more minutes together, more minutes playing a certain way and style of football.
“It is new and fresh for everyone so it is going to take time to click but I was happy with the amount of goals that we scored tonight.
The hosts scored 11 goals on the night including five different scorers and Potter was pleased with the individual displays throughout as well as the collective showing from her team.
She added: “It was nice to see especially with some of the conversations that I am having with them as well, just trying to get a bit more from each position and ask a little bit more of the players. Whether it is runs in behind, coming to feet or moving off shoulders, I saw a few of the details that we have spoken about individually so it was really pleasing.”
The Gers will now prepare for the Glasgow Cup final as they go in search of retaining the trophy having won the first ever edition of the competition last season and the head coach feels it is important to keep building as a squad throughout their pre-season schedule.
She said: “As you can see when you are playing three games in a week it is tough to keep the squad fresh but obviously we know we are in pre-season and we have got to build minutes.
“It is going to be hard and we are building fitness levels so it was just about maintaining that progression as we can keep going and building on performances and minutes in the legs.
“We will make sure we will go away and we will look back and do some post-match stuff on it and tick a few boxes on Friday, we are looking forward to another game at the weekend.”
