Preview: Rangers WFC v Forfar Farmington

RANGERS Women’s assistant boss Andy Gardner is hoping they can build on last week’s league win as they prepare to face Forfar Farmington on Sunday.

The Gers moved up to fourth place in the league with the 4-1 victory at Ochilview last weekend and look to continue that form into this weekend’s match at The Hummel Training Centre.

Gardner said: “We have been working really hard over the last 10 weeks and obviously getting that win last weekend we are looking to try and build on it now.

“We have been really close in the league against Celtic and Glasgow City but we knew we had to get back to winning ways in the league and to get the three points but we are just looking to carry that on now and try and get as many points as we can between now and the end of the season.

“We are delighted to be back into fourth place but we just have to make sure that the consistency levels stay there and we finish the season strong.”

Just over a month ago, Rangers defeated Forfar 4-0 away in the SSE Scottish Cup, but Gardner says the Gers must remain focused to get the same success this weekend.

He said: “Forfar are a really good side, myself and Greg watched the game against Motherwell that was on TV and we were really impressed with them.

“The squad has come a long way [since the cup game] but I am also sure that Forfar have come a long way so we have to make sure that we are focussed and if the goals don’t come early the same as last time that we stay focussed on what we know we can do in the game but it should be a good game at the weekend.”

Rangers WFC v Forfar kicks off at 2.30pm at The Hummel Training Centre on Sunday. Admission is £5 for Adults, £3 for concessions and under-16’s are free.
