It is the first time the club have competed in the competition, gaining qualification after winning the Under-18’s League last season.
Gers are in the Domestic Champions path, along with 31 other clubs, with this route following a straight-knockout format where the matches are played over two legs.
RangersTV spoke to Kai Kennedy and Kane Ritchie-Hosler ahead of the opening game.
Kennedy, who was part of the league winning Under-18’s squad last season, said: “I’m looking forward to it, I think you can tell by the boys in training that everyone is buzzing.
“Last year we were pushing for the League and the Youth Cup but I think the League was the most important so that we could get playing in this against the best teams. It is a different challenge compared to playing against teams here every week.
Also travelling with the squad to Switzerland is Kane Ritchie-Hosler who joined the Academy recently from Manchester City.
Currently part of the Under-18’s squad, the winger is looking forward to the experience of the UEFA Youth League.
He said: “It’s going to be a big competition for us. I think we can go far if we keep getting through the stages and playing against some of the best team in Europe so it will be a good challenge for us.
Following the game on Thursday, the second leg will take place in Glasgow three weeks later.
Should Graeme Murty’s side defeat Young Boys in Round One, they will take on Bulgaria’s Ludogorets or Slovan Bratislava of Slovakia in Round Two.
