QUINTY SABAJO believes that dealing with the pressure of having to win at her former club will help her succeed at Rangers.
The midfielder, who joined the Light Blues as a free agent on a one-year deal, makes the switch to Glasgow having last represented Ajax, where she departed at the end of last season.
Speaking to RangersTV for the first time since making the move, she said: “At Ajax, you have to win everything, you feel the pressure, and you need to win.
“That is what I like, that is what I live for. I need the pressure, and that is here too.
“It is my first time moving away, and it hasn't come hard to me, after the first couple of weeks or months, maybe, but now I feel good.
“The girls are very kind to me and help me a lot in the couple of days I have been in. I am sure it is going to be all right.
“What did I know about the SWPL? Not much, but I investigated it a little bit.
“I saw that it is very close, with the top three. It is very close, and that is what I like.
“It is like that in Holland too, it is very close and that is the pressure I like.”
The Dutch midfielder, who has a top-flight title and two cups in her native homeland to her name, spoke of her journey in football so far and reflected on her Eredivisie winning experience in the summer of 2023.
She continued: “I began at home in my homeplace in Utrecht in the Netherlands with the boys, then I went to Heerenveen.
“I had a couple of years there and I enjoyed it. Then came Ajax; it was a real dream. Of course, it is Ajax, I enjoyed it there.
“A couple of years, bumpy years, but good years. Won the championship, and it was a great experience. Now I am at Rangers and happy to be here.
“Title win? That was amazing, goosebumps already. I was never on that level before; I felt very good.
“The group was good, it was a very unique group with a lot of quality, and you saw that, and we won the Championship. It was a very great season.”
The 26-year-old gave fans a taster of what they can expect to see when she steps on the pitch, as she shared her excitement to get going.
She added: “I am just comfortable with the ball. Passes between the lines, and I can score.
“I am very technical; I can shoot and just enjoy football. I hope they can see that I love football, I love to be in a game with the girls on the field, and hopefully, they are going to see that.
“I just want to win everything and develop with the girls every match, just grow and try to win the championship.
“It is good to be here on a winning side, to step in there. That makes it a little bit easier, and I can just be myself, and the girls are kind to me, so it’s going to be really good.”
