RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce Jay Bradford has been appointed the new assistant coach of the women’s first-team.
Bradford brings to the club a wealth of experience and knowledge, having spent over seven years with Coventry Ladies, with six of those being as manager.
She took charge in over 150 matches at Coventry, overseeing two County Cup victories alongside a Premier Division Plate success, as well as promotion into the Women’s Championship. She departed the club in May 2022 after guiding them to safety on the final day of the season.
The new Gers assistant then moved on to Burnley where she took up the role of assistant coach in January 2023 before taking charge of the side on an interim basis until the end of the last campaign following the departure of Jonathan Morgan.
In that period she oversaw silverware success as the Clarets were comfortable 9-0 winners over Darwen FC Ladies in the final of the Lancashire FA Women’s Senior Cup as they picked up the County Cup for the second campaign running.
The appointment will see Bradford link up with newly appointed head coach Jo Potter once again having spent time together at Coventry.
Upon her arrival, she commented: “I am really excited, I think it is a great club so it was a bit of a no brainer for me really, the history of it and where it's ambition sits is impressive and that ticks a lot of boxes for me and also linking back up with Jo is a really big positive as well.”
Women’s head coach Jo Potter added, “I am very pleased to welcome Jay as our new assistant coach for the season ahead, she brings to Rangers a wealth of experience and knowledge from her time in England in various coaching roles.
"I am excited to link back up with her once again and I am confident as a team we can go in search of success and silverware in the season ahead, she will be a quality edition to the coaching staff.”
