Rangers Announce Partnership With Hong Kong Rangers FC

RANGERS International Soccer Academy are today delighted to announce a new club partnership with Hong Kong Rangers FC.

The partnership will provide excellent coaching and support mechanisms between the two clubs.

Rangers coaches will provide additional support and assistance to the players and staff at the Hong Kong-based club by travelling to conduct training sessions and further develop the growing relationship.

Hong Kong Rangers will also benefit from access to the excellent online training course from the Rangers Soccer Academy to further enhance their training toolkit whilst continuing to develop their staff and young players.

As part of the partnership, teams from Hong Kong Rangers will also have opportunities to travel to Scotland on tours and experience first-hand the Rangers Soccer Academy set-up.

The Hong Kong partnership is the latest in several flourishing relationships with clubs across the globe and also aims to elevate the commercial benefits for Rangers Football Club.

Hong Kong Rangers are a well-established club having been founded in 1958 where they have won multiple honours including the Hong Kong First Division title once, the Senior Shield four times and the Hong Kong FA Cup twice.

Historical links already exist between the partnerships with Rangers legend, Willie Henderson, having played for the Hong Kong Club between 1974 and 1976, as well as other former players including Jim Forrest, Alex Willoughby and Billy Semple.

Additionally, in previous years, the club has sent former Rangers players and academy teams to participate in the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens that have been hosted by Hong Kong Rangers.

Head of Soccer Academies and International Relations at Rangers Football Club, Gary Gibson, commented: “This is another exciting announcement as we continue to drive Rangers International Soccer Academy in different parts of the globe.

“Creating a strong relationship with Hong Kong Rangers will give us further exposure in the region, and that will see Rangers coaching staff travelling across to deliver camps and coach education events, build strong relationships with schools and welcome groups across to Glasgow for football, educational and cultural events.”

Philip Lee, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Rangers, added: “We are happy to be announcing that the HK Rangers will work with Rangers International Soccer Academy in Glasgow, Scotland, on local player development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area. Both clubs will work together closely to develop local talents for the benefit of Chinese football.

“We are looking forward to bringing Rangers coaches to Hong Kong and taking groups across to Scotland to visit the World’s Most Successful Football Club.” ㅤ
