RANGERS can today announce the signing of Bailley Collins on a one-year deal.
The 22-year-old becomes the latest addition to Leanne Crichton’s squad, making the move as a free agent having most recently featured for Motherwell.
Joining the fellow SPWPL side from Aberdeen in 2023, the versatile midfielder helped the K-Park side achieve a first-ever top-six finish in the 24/25 campaign under Paul Brownlie.
A player that her new Head Coach knows well, having previously worked together during her time as an assistant coach at Motherwell, she will continue her journey in the Scottish game with her latest switch to Glasgow.
Also a former Scotland youth internationalist, Collins has been previously capped for her country at both Under-17s and 19s level and will now provide competition within the Rangers squad ahead of the new campaign getting underway next month.
Speaking after making the move to Rangers, she said: “It is a bit surreal to be honest, I am really excited, and I can’t wait to get started.
“I think working with Leanne in the past, it was kind of a no-brainer. I know the standards that she drives and what she brings as a coach, and I just really want to improve, and I think this is the right place for me to do that.”
Women’s Head Coach Leanne Crichton added: “I am very pleased to welcome Bailley to Rangers. She's a young player who has already shown real quality in the SPWPL, and we believe this is the right environment for her to continue her development.
“She has good physical attributes and works tirelessly for the team; just as importantly, she has the mentality and ambition that we're looking to add to this squad.
“Bailley is eager to improve, embrace the challenge of playing for Rangers and compete at the highest level.
"Having worked with her previously during my time as assistant at Motherwell, I know the qualities that she can bring, and I’m confident that she will continue to develop further moving into full-time football here.”
Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies also said: “We are thrilled to welcome Bailley to Rangers. She is a player who has shown real consistency and maturity in the SPWPL at two separate clubs despite still being at an early stage of her career.
“Her attitude, professionalism and desire to keep improving stood out throughout, and we believe she has all the attributes to continue her development as she steps into a full-time environment for the first time.
“Bailley is an ambitious player, and we are confident she has the credentials to take the next step in her career here at Rangers.
"She adds quality and competition to our squad, while also fitting the Scottish culture and core that we are continuing to build within the group. We are looking forward to working with her and helping her take the next steps in her career, and we're excited to see the contribution she can make.”
