RANGERS Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Calliste Brookshire on a two-and-a-half year deal.
The 24-year-old joins the Light Blues as a free agent, having most recently featured for FHL in the Icelandic Premier League during last season.
Born in Kingston, Massachusetts in the United States of America, the forward played high school soccer at Silver Lake Regional High School, where she served as team captain and earned multiple local honours and league MVP awards.
She studied at the University of Massachusetts, playing for River Hawk’s women’s team. A consistent starter for the side, she featured in numerous matches across multiple seasons on the other side of the Atlantic. The attacker boasted impressive stats with four goals and six assists in 2024, ranking among the league leaders in terms of assisting her teammates.
After college, Brookshire signed to play professionally for the first time, in Iceland with top-flight club FHL, (Fjardab/Hottur/Leiknir). Her performances in the nation earned league recognition, including being selected in the Team of the Week in the Besta Deild Kvenna (Iceland’s top women’s division).
Of dual nationality of American/Greek, she has featured at senior international level for Greece, earning four caps and scoring once for the nation in total, with her first appearance coming in May last year in a Nations League Group B match.
Brookshire becomes Leanne Crichton’s first signing of 2026 as she bolsters her Gers squad as they look to continue competing on three fronts during the second half of the season.
Speaking after signing for Rangers, Brookshire said: “It feels amazing, just walking in and seeing the facility.
“Meeting the staff and the girls has been so awesome, everyone has been really welcoming so I am really excited to get started.
“I knew some things about Rangers before joining but I have just been learning a lot through different meetings I have had with coaches and talking to some players.
“Just learning the history is really awesome and I am excited to be part of it.”
Women’s Head Coach, Leanne Crichton added: “We’re delighted to welcome Cal to Rangers. She’s a creative and dynamic player with great vision and the ability to make things happen in the final third.
“Her experience of playing in Iceland last season and being capped at national team level, as well as her competitive spirit, fit perfectly with the standards and ambition we have here at the club.
“Cal adds another exciting dimension to our squad, and we’re looking forward to seeing her develop further as part of this group.”
Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies also said: “We’re thrilled to bring Cal to the club. She is a player of real quality and potential. Her creativity, technical ability, and professionalism are exactly the traits we want to strengthen our squad and drive us forward.
“Leanne and the staff have worked incredibly hard to identify talent that she feels can continue to allow the team to be competitive at the top of the table.
“Adding Cal to the group will only serve to do that, and we are looking forward to the second half of the season with her and the squad.”
