Rangers Confirm Steven Smith As First Team Coach

RANGERS Football Club can today confirm that Steven Smith will remain with the men’s first-team coaching staff for the remainder of the season.

Smith, who made over a century of appearances for the club as a player having come through the youth ranks, has been part of Danny Röhl’s backroom staff since the German was appointed Head Coach in October.

He joins a strong coaching unit assisting Danny Röhl, which includes Sascha Lense (men’s first-team performance manager), Matthias Kaltenbach (assistant coach), Sal Bibbo (goalkeeping coach), Scott Fry (set-piece coach), Rhys Owen (performance coach) and Tristan Steiner (sports analyst).

On Smith’s appointment, Röhl commented: “I am delighted to confirm Steven as part of my coaching team.

“I said it was important to have someone who knows the club and Steven has that. He has played here and brings that knowledge of this unique club to our coaching team.”
