Rangers Drawn Against Royal Antwerp In UEFA Europa League

RANGERS have been drawn to play Royal Antwerp in the Last 32 of the Europa League.

Gers were seeded for this afternoon’s draw at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, and have been paired against the side who finished second to Tottenham Hotspur in Group J.

Indeed, Antwerp managed to defeat Jose Mourinho’s side in the group stage, and only missed out on top spot by a single point.

They are currently seventh in the Belgian Juplier League, level on 25 points with Standard Liege, whom Gers defeated home and away in Group D.

It will be the first meeting of the two sides in any competition, with the first leg taking place at their Bosuilstadion on February 18, followed by the return leg at Ibrox on February 25.

The oldest football club in Begium, Antwerp were also the last Belgian side to contest a European final – the 1993 Cup Winners’ Cup final at Wembley where they lost 3-1 to Parma. Kick-off times for both ties will be confirmed in due course.
