Rangers To Host AS Saint-Étienne In Pre-Season Fixture

RANGERS will host AS Saint-Étienne at Ibrox in an exciting pre-season friendly on Wednesday, July 22, kick-off 7:45pm.

The French giants will pose a strong test for Derek McInnes’ side in their preparations for the new Scottish Premiership campaign, which will begin nine days later at Tannadice.

The two clubs have a storied history, having clashed in European competition in both 1957 and 1975.

It was the Gers, under the stewardship of Scot Symon, who prevailed over two legs in their first meeting, but the French side exacted revenge in the second round of the 1975/76 European Cup.

Indeed, upon their visit to Ibrox in November 1975, Saint-Etienne gifted the club with a bicycle which continues to take pride of place in the stadium’s Trophy Room.

Tickets for the fixture are priced at £20 for adults, £12 for concessions and just £5 for juniors.

Hospitality packages will be available for this fixture, and these will be announced shortly.
