Rangers Transfer Round-Up

IT has been the busiest summer transfer window for Rangers for some years, with nine new players joining the club in the past few months.

With the window closing last night, we’ve pulled together a round-up of the summer signings.

Kieran Dowell

The first signing of the summer was midfielder Kieran Dowell, who joined the club from Norwich City on a three-year deal.

Butland, who has been capped nine times by England, arrived at Rangers with significant experience from spells at Birmingham City, Stoke City, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Derby County and Barnsley.

He has featured in every game so far this season for Gers producing some big saves in both the league and European competition.

Dujon Sterling

The 23-year-old defender joined Rangers this summer having spent his career at Chelsea from the age of eight.

Sterling made his way through the ranks in the Academy, making his debut for the London club in an EFL Cup tie in 2017.

He has made four appearances for Rangers so far since joining the club.

Sam Lammers

The Dutch attacker was the fourth signing of the summer transfer window as he joined the club on four-year deal from Atalanta.

Having spent time playing in Holland, Germany and Italy, the forward joined having featured in some of the top leagues across Europe.

A product of PSV’s Academy, Lammers was also on target for the first time for Rangers in the 4-0 victory over Livingston in the Scottish Premiership.

Abdallah Sima

The forward joined the club late in June on a season-long loan from English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

Starting his career in his home country of Senegal, Sima moved to Slavia Prague and lifted the Czech First League title in 2020/21 and picked up the league’s Young Player of the Year.

Abdallah has been on the scoresheet twice so far this season with a Scottish Premiership goal against Livingston and a fine strike in the UEFA Champions League play-off first-leg against PSV Eindhoven.

Cyriel Dessers

Forward Cyriel Dessers joined Rangers on a four-year deal from Cremonese becoming the sixth signing of the summer.

Experienced defender Leon Balogun returned to the club during pre-season after a year away from Rangers.

The Nigerian international was a key player at Ibrox between 2020 and 2022, before spending last season in London at Queen’s Park Rangers.
