Rangers Under-16s To Compete In Alkass International Cup 2026

RANGERS Under-16s will once again compete at the prestigious Alkass International Cup in Doha, Qatar, which kicks off on Monday afternoon.

The young Gers have been a regular fixture at the tournament in the Middle East, returning after a four-year hiatus just under 12 months.

Indeed, the club lifted the trophy back in 2019 with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over AS Roma.

Last time out, the Under-16s secured a podium finish at the tournament with a 4-1 triumph over Seattle Sounders after missing out on a spot in the final following a 3-1 defeat to PSG.

 

  

The side were a credit to themselves and enjoyed an unbeaten group stage campaign after victory over Seattle and draws against Aspire Academy of Qatar and Mohammed VI Football Academy of Morocco.

This year, the young Gers will compete in Group A alongside Aspire Academy, Mohammed VI Football Academy and Étoile Sportive du Sahel of Tunisia, with the adjacent group made up of Barcelona, PSG, Kashiwa Reysol of Japan, and PVF Football Academy of Vietnam.

Group A fixtures (all kick-off times are in GMT):

  • Monday, January 19 – Rangers v Étoile Sportive du Sahel – Kick-off 2:50pm

  • Wednesday, January 21 – Aspire Academy v Rangers – Kick-off 12:30pm

  • Friday, January 23 – Rangers v Mohammed VI Football Academy – Kick-off 2:50pm
