Women’s head coach Gregory Vignal, who had a spell at Liverpool as a player, organised the game and hopes it will give him the opportunity to see where his side are at the moment.
He said: “I spoke with Liverpool and thought it was a really good idea to play a strong team like Liverpool especially before the Glasgow City game and this is good for the girls because we can see where we are.
“This is a club who are really looking forward and trying to bring players in and they want to win everything, they are a big club like us.
Liverpool Women have won the top league in England twice in 2003 and 2004 and have recently completed a pre-season tour in America alongside Jurgen Klopp and his men’s first-team.
Vignal added: “As you can see after the World Cup the game is changing and it will be better year by year that’s a fact especially after the World Cup. I understand why Liverpool try to push and be stronger year by year I am not surprised by this.
“My kids were born there as well so for me it is nice and I have got a lot of friends and a lot of big memories, it is a special city for me.”
Vignal is hoping Rangers Women can build a bond with the English club.
He explained: “I would be fantastic for us, it works really well with the first team regarding players so I hope it can be the same thing for us because you need help when starting a new project and if we can have a good relationship and be close with Liverpool Football Club that would be amazing for us.”
The game will be played at Prenton Park, home of Tranmere Rovers, and Vignal hopes the day will be a good experience for his side.
He said: “I think they will learn a lot of things because this is where I want to bring the team, this is where we want to be as a club, so it will be a good test.
“It will be a new experience for the girls, it is a good stadium so something else for the girls.
“If you look at the big picture regarding this game there are a lot of positives and I have got something in my mind and a game plan and I think it will be a great experience for the girls.”
