It was a strong performance from the young Gers side which featured a number of under-18 players against the experienced League One outfit which included David Goodwillie, Morgaro Gomis and Conrad Balatoni.
It was Clyde who opened the scoring after just 10 minutes before Arron Lyall and Robbie Ure found the target for Rangers in the second-half.
Rangers started strong and looked for an opening early in the game as good build-up play from David McCallum’s side saw Weston find the fun of Robbie Fraser and the left-back tried a shot which was held by the Clyde goalkeeper.
With 10 minutes on the clock Clyde took the lead as a dangerous ball was delivered into the box from the right and headed home by the striker.
Alex Lowry threatened from a set-piece shortly after but his curling effort hit the side netting, before Jake Hastie saw a shot blocked and deflected out for a corner.
Just before half-time Alex Lowry’s cross was headed towards goal by Kyle McClelland but his effort was held by the Clyde goalkeeper.
David McCallum made one change at the break with Arron Lyall replacing Tony Weston in attack.
Just three minutes into the second-half Rangers were back level as Adam Devine drove down the right and side before whipping a ball into the box which was turned home by Lyall.
It was a lively start to the second-half as the hosts came close as their striker beat the offside trap to go through on goal but his shot was blocked off the line by Lewis MacKinnon.
Into the second-half Rangers made further changes as McKenzie Strachan and the injured Alex Lowry were replaced by the trialist and Robbie Ure.
The Light Blues almost had the lead as Charlie Lindsay curled a right-footed free-kick towards goal from the edge of the box which rattled off the crossbar before being held by the Clyde goalkeeper.
That second goal did come with five minutes of the game remaining, Malcolm Ebiowei delivered a ball into the box from the right to pick out Robbie Ure who fired Rangers ahead.
