Goals from Greg Stewart, Rhys Breen, Dapo Mebude and an own goal saw the Gers to victory in difficult conditions as wind and rain battered Auchenhowie.
The squad was a mix of first-team and youth Academy players with Andy King, Greg Docherty, Greg Stewart and Jamie Murphy starting the match.
There was also a starting spot for Jordan Jones, who played his first minutes in three months after returning from injury.
Graeme Murty’s side started well as Jamie Murphy fired a dangerous cross into the box on the 6th minute which met Jordan Jones, but the Brentford keeper was out quickly to touch it behind for a corner.
Murphy was again involved in the build-up for the Gers five minutes later as he found the run of Jamie Barjonas, but his shot across goal was just wide of the target.
Rangers got the breakthrough on the 23rd minute as Nathan Patterson’s cross was turned into the net by Brentford’s Luka Racic.
The visitors came close to an equaliser on the 32nd minute as Tsaroulla found Adams who cut in and got a shot away aiming for the far corner but it was cleared off the line by defender Rhys Breen.
Just moments later the Light Blues were awarded a penalty as Greg Stewart was fouled in the box by Arthur Read. Stewart stepped up to the spot and sent the keeper the wrong way to double the advantage.
Brentford continued to search for a goal back into the game before the break as Hammar tried his luck from the edge of the box but his low drilled effort was held well by Kieran Wright.
There was one change for Rangers at the break as Greg Stewart was replaced upfront by Dapo Mebude.
Mebude was involved in the action early on as he got a shot away but it was saved by the Brentford goalkeeper.
Rangers got their third on the 53rd minute as Jordan Jones swung a corner into the box, which was headed home by defender Rhys Breen.
Wright was again called into action in the Rangers goal as Arthur Read fired a powerful effort towards goal but it was pushed away by Wright.
With 10 minutes to go Brentford had another chance at goal as Mogensen’s shot was saved well by Wright.
On the 86th minute, Rangers added a fourth and rounded the scoring off for the afternoon as Greg Docherty played the ball forward to Mebude who slotted beyond the keeper.
