Daina Bourma’s first-half goal was the difference at the break before Sam Kerr, Chantelle Swaby and Lizzie Arnot adding to the tally in the second-half.
Malky Thomson named seven changes to his side from Sunday’s defeat with Megan Cunningham, Daina Bourma, Emma Brownlie, Sonia O’Neill, Bala Devi, Carly Girasoli and Clare Gemmell coming into the starting line-up.
Rangers were forced into a change with just 10 minutes on the clock as striker Bala Devi went down injured at the half-way line. The Indian international was unable to continue and was replaced by Zoe Ness.
In the opening stages, Malky Thomson’s side had the majority of possession but were unable to test Forfar goalkeeper Beth Mowatt.
Just after the half-hour mark, Emma Brownlie’s cross was flicked on towards goal by Zoe Ness but it was a comfortable save for Mowatt.
Rangers managed to get the breakthrough on the 36th minute as Nicola Docherty’s cross was controlled by Zoe Ness in the box before being fed out to Rachel McLauchlan on the right. McLauchlan delivered an inviting ball into the box and Daina Bourma was on hand at the back post to tap home from close range.
McLauchlan tried a shot herself from just inside the area shortly after but it curled just wide of the post.
The Light Blues were piling on the pressure in the closing stages of the first-half as Chelsea Cornet’s shot from distance bounced back off the woodwork with Emma Brownlie getting on the rebound but her effort also coming back off the bar.
Into the second-half, Carly Girasoli came close early on as she headed just over the bar from an Emma Brownlie cross.
Rangers thought they had a second as Brogan Hay fed the ball through to Lizzie Arnot who tapped home from close range but the flag was up for offside.
However, just a minute later that second goal did come. Lizzie Arnot swung a dangerous ball into the box from a corner with Sam Kerr at the back post to head home and double Rangers’ advantage.
Into the final 10 minutes of the game Zoe Ness was denied as Forfar goalkeeper Beth Mowatt did well to get a strong hand on the looping effort to tip it over the bar.
From the resulting corner Gers added a third as Lizzie Arnot again delivered a lovely ball into the box which was headed into the back of the net by centre-back Chantelle Swaby.
Megan Cunningham pulled off a good save in the final minute to ensure another clean sheet for Rangers as she got down quick to clear a headed effort from Hannah Stewart.
In added time Lizzie Arnot added a fourth as the ball broke to her on the edge of the box with the forward taking a touch into the area before curling a shot into the back of the net.
