The head coach was speaking to the media ahead of the match on December 27, and after defeat at Tynecastle last weekend, Röhl believes confidence is back in his squad as they prepare for a busy festive period.
He said: “I think at first the emotions in the changing room were really down, but this is my part to bring them back. After yesterday’s meeting, I felt the players’ confidence was back because it is my job to lift them, give them a clear message and now our focus is on the next game.
“We have to look forward again, it is up to us to create new momentum and go on a new run.
“We have some places where we have really improved and we have some parts in the game where we are not making huge steps. Against the ball in every game we see a clear structure, we have more effort, we are more aggressive and we have more clean sheets but of course the next step is also to improve in possession.
“It will come. For this we need training, we need results and we have the next opportunity at the weekend.”
With three of the next four league fixtures at home, Röhl hopes there can be a good energy inside Ibrox.
He continued: “We will first face a team who are also on a good run, Motherwell have had a lot of good results, and it will be a good game.
“We will have a lot of supporters, let’s try to create a good energy in the stadium, a togetherness and we have to deliver a proper fight and a good game on the pitch.
“It is always helpful if you create an energy in the stadium where the opponent feels like they are playing against twelve men.”
Youssef Chermiti came up with a late goal in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat, and the head coach says he has seen positive things from the striker in recent weeks.
He continued: “Hopefully this goal helps him. The action showed that he has speed, body, and finishing which is what we want to see from a striker. For him it is about consistency in the performance.
“My opinion after the Hibs game was that he put in a lot of effort, he ran for the team and now his next step should be that he has more dangerous situations where he scores and if he does this then he can help us.”
Röhl was also asked to provide a squad update and revealed John Souttar has returned to training ahead of a crucial few weeks.
He explained: “Yesterday he trained for part of the session. We’ll need to see what it means today and tomorrow but it is a huge step. I am not sure if it is enough for the weekend but with the games that are coming now it helps.
“When you play every three days then you have to see but the big step was yesterday to come back in a training session for a part. He looks good, he looks fit and this is great.”
