Ross Wilson Praises Under-18 League Win

RANGERS under-18s secured European for a third successive season after a 3-1 victory over St Mirren yesterday.

Goals from Charlie Lindsay, Arron Lyall and Rory Wilson secured the three points and ensured Rangers are league winners.

Sporting Director Ross Wilson commented, “I’m delighted to extend my congratulations to our U18 team following the lads lifting a third consecutive league championship trophy.

"I am particularly pleased for this group of players as this season has been an extremely difficult one given the impact of coronavirus forcing them to spend large periods at home at a crucial part of their careers and in their development.

"As we build our football identity, we asked the coaching team to work hard to align and embed many of the team principles that Steven Gerrard and the coaching staff have implemented in our first team. We have been really pleased to see that Rangers identity developing.

"Furthermore, we have a desire to keep challenging the development of our young players through a varied games programme. We again can look forward to the excellent challenge of the UEFA Youth League in 21/22 for a third year in a row.”
