Nico Raskin and Bojan Miovski were on target at Ibrox as Gers booked their place in the last four of the competition.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “I really enjoyed the performance, the guys really stuck to the work we did during the week, they played with a level of courage and intensity, and it was fantastic.
“We could've probably scored a couple more goals and there's lots for us to work on and improve on, but I think under the circumstances I am really proud of the team and the staff, everyone stuck together this week.
“It has been a really good week for us, in that sense and then the guys went and carried it out on the pitch, so I am really grateful.
“We moved the ball quickly, there's loads to work on, but they were really together, the guys wanted to take the ball under pressure. We created some really good moments as I said we could've maybe scored a couple more goals, but we have to grow from this and use this as a platform to build on.”
“I am pleased for Nico to score from a set-play, we do a lot of work on them and we haven't quite been threatening enough but today we looked a real threat from that and it has been about work on the training pitch this week, everyone really understanding what is required and then they trusted each other and I am really pleased.”
For Miovski, it was his first Rangers goal since joining the club last month, and Martin was delighted for the striker as well as the other summer signings and is excited by what is still to come from his team.
He continued: “It'll be great for him, he is just adapting like so many new guys, and he had no training time at all before this, so this week has been really important for him and for Youssef.
“I think Thelo's performance was fantastic. We had a bit of time on the training pitch to work so there's loads more to come from these guys and it'll be great for all of them.
“We have got another opportunity on Thursday to put on a performance we like and wins us the game and there was so much good stuff today but also so much to improve, and I think that is the exciting bit as a coach.”
