Ryan Jack Praises Collective Effort

RYAN JACK tonight lauded the collective effort of his Rangers teammates as they came away from Borussia Dortmund with a 4-2 win.

The Light Blues were phenomenal in the Rhineland tonight to overcome the side currently sitting second in the Bundesliga with Jack outstanding in the middle of the park.

"It is an amazing result,” he told rangers.co.uk. “What a performance - I think everyone spoke before the game and said, no matter what happened, we would leave it all on the pitch and I think that's what we did.

"Every man, when they were on the pitch, left everything they had on the pitch and it just shows you, when you buy into the gameplan and stick together, that when you come to big places like this you can get a big result.

"With the number of games we play, when we have a gameplan, you need to buy into it and then move on.

"We have Dundee United in two days and that is another massive game for us. It is another quick turnaround - we can enjoy tonight but come tomorrow, it is in to training and focus turns onto a massive three points on Sunday."

Jack played almost the full 90 – the most minutes he has played as he continues his recovery from an injury that has kept him out for the best part of a year.

He continued: "It has been such a long time and I've not had a run of games consecutively and a run of training consecutively, so for me, I knew coming here tonight was going to be a massive task playing against world-class players all over the pitch.

"But I have worked hard behind the scenes, I have trained tirelessly every day to have this moment, and for me personally, I was delighted to be back out there to help the lads get a big win."

Jack reckons the way Gers began the match set the tone for their performance, and he continued: "Do you know what? I think the start of the game and the first 10 minutes, we had a couple of passages of play and Buff [Alfredo Morelos] was at it - he was getting us forward and he was linking the play.

" I think everyone just looked at each other from there and thought, 'we're at it tonight' and, when you buy into that and stick together and all perform to your maximum and leave it all out there, then this is the type of results we are capable of as a team.

"It is only half-time and next week is going to be huge for us, but it is important we use this as a building block.

"Hopefully we get a good win on Sunday and come next week, it is another hell of a game with 50,000 right behind us and it is another chance for us to leave it all out there and see where it takes us."
