The trio, who were all recruited following spells with Linfield in Northern Ireland, were delighted to answer fans’ questions at the Hummel Training Centre.
Striker Chris was first to arrive at Rangers and enjoyed a positive debut campaign last season while winger Ross and central defender Lewis made the move in the summer and have been thrilled with the welcome they have received by club staff so far.
Q – Elsie McCready – Hi Guys. Which one of you will be the first to make it to the first team and why?
CM – You have to say yourself don’t you!
RM – me because I am the best player!
LM – Again you have to back yourself!
Q – Lee – Hiya Chris. It’s great to see you doing so well at Rangers, my question for you is did you ever think of refusing the chance to return to Linfield or did you feel like you had to return to prove a point to Scott that maybe he’d made a mistake in letting you go ?
CM – I just loved the club so I was more than happy to go back.
Q – RangersManUtd – Since signing for Rangers what has been your highlight? Any part of your game that needs worked on for the next step in your career?
CM – Scoring a hat trick in the Al Kass cup and going on to win it.
RM – 100% has to be when I scored against Celtic a few weeks. It was a good ball through and I ran on to it and nutmegged the defender and scored.
LM – I have been unlucky so far so I think my highlight is yet to come.
CM – Getting better knowledge to come in and take the ball or when to run in behind.
RM – Work on position out of play and general physical strength.
LM – Continuing to work on my left foot and one v one defending while also continuing to work on the tactical side of the game.
Q – Stewart McGaughey – If you could shadow one current first-team player for a week who would it be?
CM -Jermain Defoe because he has done so much in the game already and he plays in my position.
RM – Steven Davis. He is such a top professional and the captain of our country.
LM – Connor Goldson because I think he gets better in every game and he played at a high level in the English Premier League.
Q – Petrocelli – With a few NI players in the Rangers Academy set-up, what do you see as the main benefits of making the move to Scotland instead of to big clubs in England?
CM – For me I came to Rangers because I grew up as a fan and Rangers is as big if not bigger than the clubs in England. When I came here I was made to feel at home. That wasn’t the case when I was in England. So I just wanted to come here.
RM – As Chris said I am a Rangers fan too. I just thought there was more of a pathway at Rangers as has been seen by some of the academy players already.
LM – I would say the same. When I first came in here I was made welcome and a lot more comfortable than other clubs I had been at before. I am a Rangers fan as well.
Q – Kimmie – What players in the first team do you look up to, where do you all see yourself in the future?
CM – Again Jermain Defoe and my lifelong dream is to play in front of 50,000 fans at Ibrox. And score against Celtic !!
RM – Steven Davis again and to play regularly for Rangers, Northern Ireland and score against Celtic.
LM – Connor Goldson again and my ultimate dream is to play at Ibrox regularly for the Rangers first team.
Q – James Black – Having all come from Linfield, how has that helped each of you settle in Glasgow and does it help having guys who’ve made similar journey’s so far when you’re having wee moments of doubt in yourself/homesickness etc?
CM – Obviously with me coming over a year earlier I have more experience. Pat and Gavin really look after me at the digs and it is just like being at home. I thank them for all their help. When the other two boys came over it made me feel even more at home. All three of us have the same end goal. We want to play for Rangers so we can all help each other.
RM – The people here are quite similar to the people back home. The other two boys have helped me settle and we all share dig so that is good. It is only 20 minutes back home on a flight too.
LM – I was over on trips before I signed and getting to know the staff and players has been positive. They make you feel comfortable and you can speak to them all about anything if you need to.
