The goalkeeper made a crucial stop in the first-half to preserve the Gers’ advantage, eventually triumphing 3-0 at K-Park, as they picked up another three points in their group stage campaign.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, the 16-year-old goalkeeper said: “It was a great performance right from the get-go.
“We worked on things in training yesterday, and it all paid off in the game today.
“All credit goes to the back four, not just me. The boys were great at moving the ball around. They put in a tough shift today, and it was solid.
“You never know when you’ll be called upon as a goalkeeper. It was a crucial save one-versus-one before half-time, and it was important.”
Reid was given the nod from the off against Hibernian last week in cup action, while he made his first Under-19s start against St. Mirren on league duty last year.
The teenager has trained with the first-team on occasion this season, and he says the experience learning off Jack Butland and Liam Kelly has been beneficial.
He added: “I’m learning a lot playing with older boys. It’s great experience, and hopefully there is more to come.
“You learn so much, and it’s just about putting it onto the pitch as well.
“It has been great training with Jack and Liam. They give you so much advice and really push me on to be my best.”
