RANGERS Academy are today pleased to announce that goalkeeper Sam Reid has signed his first professional contract.
The 16-year-old is a graduate of the club’s schoolboy programme at Boclair Academy and has followed the full Academy journey at the Light Blues.
He will join up with the Under-19s squad this upcoming campaign as he looks to follow in the footsteps of several Academy goalkeepers who have made the first-team breakthrough.
Interim Head of Academy, David McCallum, commented: “We are thrilled that Sam has signed a professional contract at the club.
“He is a player who is always to keen to learn and he has shown his capacity for improvement throughout his Academy journey here at Rangers.
“The start of a full-time journey as a young professional is always an exciting prospect, and it’s up to Sam to grasp the opportunity in front of him, supported by our strong goalkeeping coaching unit, to continue his development over the coming years.”
