The midfielder, 15, was introduced in the second half alongside Erin O’Brien, while fellow Academy player Phoebe O’Donnell was also part of the matchday squad.
A Scotland youth internationalist, Coyle Morrow insists it was a dream come true to pull on the Rangers jersey for the first time in her senior career.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, the teenager couldn’t hide her delight: “It’s been a dream of mine since I was younger, so to actually take to the pitch at the top level is surreal.
“It all happened in five minutes. Leanne [Crichton] told me to get ready, then it was out for a quick warm-up and back in. I wasn’t totally aware of the set-pieces, but it was just about going out and doing my best!
“I joined the club when I was 12 around three seasons ago from Celtic. I was in with the Under-14s and it was a great experience, then I moved up to Under-16s.
“The coaches and the players in the Academy have been amazing throughout in terms of challenging my experience and journey, which has helped a lot.”
The young midfielder was part of the first-team training group yesterday before being thrust into action in the second half this afternoon.
She would have been forgiven for being overawed by the experience, but Coyle Morrow paid tribute to the advice offered by the captain in settling her nerves.
She added: “I was in yesterday because I was away during the week. I was straight in preparing for today, so it’s been quick.
“Everyone has been class and very welcoming. Nic [Docherty] has been speaking to me and she has made it a little less awkward because it was definitely a shock and a new environment.
“I want to keep working hard and try to get in the squads. It’s a dream, but this is only the first step and hopefully I can make more.”
