Opening the scoring in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Livingston, Silva got himself off the mark in Light Blue and he feels he can only improve moving forward.
Sitting down with the media ahead of tomorrow’s Scottish Premiership match against Aberdeen, the 21-year-old said: “Before I came here, I felt it was going to be good for me because it is one more league for me to try to feel different things. I am very happy to be here, you can see I am improving game by game.
“I am a striker and I think everyone knows we live for the goals, but I think the most important thing is the way I can help my team with my movements and my work, defensive and offensive. I always say that, but it is true.
“When you work hard things come natural so of course the goal comes, and this is important for me to give me extra confidence but the most important thing for me is the result and the team.”
Silva has been impressed by the ‘special’ Ibrox atmosphere and is excited to push himself at Rangers for the remainder of this season.
He continued: “This is why I chose to come here because I don’t like to stop. I like to win of course, but the most important thing for me is that we fight, and we make a lot of sacrifices to win something, so I chose to come here because of this.
“The dressing room is amazing, the staff are amazing too, the fans and the environment at Ibrox is special.
“I am always going to do my job to try and help the team. I don't know what is going to happen of course, but it gives me a lot of extra confidence. I am sure if I continue like this then things are going to go in a good way, and I can have more goals and assists for sure.”
The striker is enjoying the ‘healthy’ competition between himself and Cyriel Dessers, with them both taking up the number nine role in recent matches.
He continued: “It is a healthy competition, everybody knows we have a lot of games. It is impossible for me and for him to play all the games for 90 minutes. It is good for the coach to have these two options in the team.
“We are different players, he can give to the team other things, I can give other things too so after that it is the coach’s decision, but it is good for him to have these solutions.”
